| Requirements and Responsibilities For Biopharma Manufacturing Engineering Manager |
| Plans and manages systems and processes for the manufacturing of biological or pharmaceutical products. Designs manufacturing systems, equipment, and methods to ensure efficient, consistent, and cost-effective production. Implements processes and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and reporting requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves production issues inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Directs the installation and maintenance of biopharmaceutical production equipment to ensure reliability and adherence to functional requirements and technical specifications. Researches new technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements to biopharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
