Requirements and Responsibilities For Materials Engineer V
Plans for the most cost-effective utilization of materials. Applies knowledge of material science to recommend engineering and manufacturing changes to attain design objectives in the most economical manner possible. Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine the appropriate materials needed to achieve successful completion of initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires 10+ years of related experience. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.
