| Requirements and Responsibilities For Biopharma Process Development Director |
| Directs and leads a team of scientists who design and develop processes for the manufacturing of experimental and active drugs. Oversees the physical, chemical, and instrumental analysis of pharmaceutical ingredients to ensure efficiency and safety. Reviews findings and ensures adherence to formulary specifications. Analyzes and interprets results and makes recommendations for process improvement. Leads more complex projects. Stays current on emerging technologies and trends within the biopharma industry. May require a PhD in biology, chemistry, or a related field. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
