Requirements and Responsibilities For Insurance Sales Compensation Manager
Manages insurance sales compensation programs and operations to ensure accurate commission administration and alignment with organizational sales strategies. Develops compensation structures, incentive plans, and commission policies designed to support sales performance, retention, and business growth objectives. Oversees commission processing activities, compensation reporting, and system controls to ensure payment accuracy and operational efficiency. Collaborates with sales leadership, finance, human resources, payroll, and compliance teams to implement and maintain compensation programs. Evaluates compensation trends, business performance metrics, and market practices to recommend program enhancements and cost management strategies. Ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and internal audit standards related to sales compensation practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
