| Requirements and Responsibilities For Power Plant Operator I |
| Responsible for controlling, monitoring, and maintaining the machinery and systems within a power plant. Uses control boards to distribute power among generators and regulate the output. Monitors instruments to maintain and meet fluctuating consumer demand throughout the day. Checks equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience. |
