| Requirements and Responsibilities For Underwriter II - P&C |
| Responsible for reviewing and analyzing property and casualty (P&C) insurance applications. Evaluates and analyzes inspection reports, location, risk, credit reports, and additional information to accept, decline, or renew an application. Utilizes and follows underwriting guidelines, rules, and standards. Determines appropriate premium rates and issues coverage. Provides customer services regarding underwriting processes and decisions. Ensures compliance with all industry and governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a manager. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience. |
