| Requirements and Responsibilities For Energy Field Maintenance Manager |
| Manages field operations for the maintenance and repair of electric and gas distribution systems within an assigned area to ensure reliable and safe service. Directs the planning and scheduling of maintenance, construction, and restoration activities carried out by field supervisors and crews. Establishes work procedures, performance metrics, and resource plans, and ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and reliability requirements. Manages departmental budgets, staffing, equipment, and materials, and oversees contractor performance on field work. Analyzes outage data, work performance, and reliability trends to guide maintenance strategies and operational improvements. Evaluates workforce capability and promotes a strong safety culture. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
