| Requirements and Responsibilities For Insurance Brokerage Director |
| Directs the strategic and operational activities of the insurance brokerage function to achieve revenue, profitability, and client retention objectives. Develops and executes brokerage strategies aligned with the organization's overall business goals, including market expansion, product development, and carrier partnerships. Oversees multiple brokerage teams or lines of business by establishing performance standards, budgets, and operational priorities. Cultivates senior-level relationships with major clients, insurance carriers, and industry partners to secure preferred terms and expand placement capabilities. Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, underwriting guidelines, and risk management standards across all brokerage operations. Collaborates with executive leadership on long-term planning, talent development, mergers and acquisitions, and competitive positioning within the brokerage market. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires NIPR State Licensure. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
